The ink flows smoothly and, as long as you are not writing in "shiny" paper, does not smear. The "blackness" of the black ink is very good. Also, the pen looks good (for a plastic disposable) and has a sturdy metal clip.
My only real complaint is the grip is a bit uncomfortable, owing to the hardness of the rubber. The uni-ball 207 Premier Retractable Gel Roller Ball Pen, Black, 1 (40108) is much easier to write with.
Even without that, this has become my favorite non-fancy pen.
